I guess it's a custom, so here it is... Once again I've painted the console. On the 06 it went black, with a light layer of glitter paint. On the 09....    What do you think?? And Stephen, I've finally got around to putting the battery cover on... time has not been my friend recently...

Oh, and when I can find some..... I want some screen type trim to put around the bottom. However I want a gold to match the pinstriping on the tank, that's why I'm struggling to find any. I've seen bright gold, but it would look shocking with it. It maybe I have to get some and paint it...

I like it! Maybe pull the sticker on the right hand side of the tank though... not sure it matches the new motif, lol!

I like it... nicely done.
I considered trim also, but I was afraid over time it might mar the paint on the tank.
Perhaps you could mask off the console and paint the bottom edge the color you want?

Gina, that looks super clean and even though that look is not for me, painting the console white looks really really good! If you were to get some white walls that would complete the look.  (that and removing the idiot stickers)

yeah the idiot sticker will go... And it's cream/New England white - like the bit on the tank. I got fed up of the glare... which is why the last one had a black one.

I do have other thoughts about the idiot lights, just need to figure out a way of getting them made...

Hope it fits the FI, I think the battery sticks out a bit more but should be ok.
Gold beading sounds difficult to source. would match in with the pinstriping though like you say.
I am at the Beaulieu autojumble next month so as our paint is the same I will keep an eye out. They say If you cant find it at Beaulieu you cant get it.

Gina, very nice...I do like where your going To me, it seems to be missing something. I think that chrome cover and fuel cap are too blingy maybe

Gina, looks awesome. How did you prep the chrome surface before painting?
I'd been considering doing similar for my 2 tone blue America. The light reflection doesn't really bother me, but I think the lump of chrome looks too much.
My 1st thought of black,, but think blue would be better. Can't decide if it shoild be the dark blur to match the main color, or the light blue. Would definitely need the gold edging.
Anyone have photo shop?

VERY fine wet and dry, 2 coats of primer and a couple of coats of top coat. It's actually the one off the 06. I got one off ebay and that went on the 06. Just in case it needs to go back on.

Gina, did you ever do anything regarding the gold edging for the console? I found some model railway paint that looks to be a perfect match, for when I get to doing my console over. Haven't figured out what to do about possibly closing the gap.
