when riding aggressively entering a turn I am getting a strange vibration or wobble. it only happens when i use the engine for braking purposes going into the turn. it seem when i get on the throttle in the turn it goes away, this happens without using the brakes. i was wondering if it could be the chain??? i have almost 20,000 miles on it---thanks cliff

Is your chain tension correct? 20k is about the limit of a chain, you should be replacing it soon anyway.

What do your tires look like? Are they anywhere near needing replacement?
I've had that happen before even on straight level highway, when taking my hands off the bars, but never noticed a thing with even one hand on.
I've also felt it in turns too, but my front tire was near the end, and I don't push my tires anywhere near slick. (I like riding hard in the rain too much.)
New tires cured it though.

Strange vibration or Wobble in curves? If it is a wobble, lean forward in the seat thus changing your center of gravity. If that reduces the wobble or makes it go away, then stiffen your rear shocks. I replaced my stock shocks with Ikon progressive shocks to absolutly resolve that issue. If I am riding aggressivly in the twisties and curves I lean forward a bit. Speedmasters with their drag bars have the rider slightly forward anyway but like my America with those wide buckhorns, plus I put 4" risers on mine, cause your center to shift back a bit. Around here where I live the country roads I drive have some low areas in the curves that will cause my bike to wobble in the curves pretty bad under certain conditions. So, experiment with it and see for yourself, but my cure was to replace the OEM suspension with a progressive suspension, front and rear, and adjust my center as needed in the curves.
Its more fun to be ridin'! I'm still ridin

Yes, I had the same result. Progressive rear shocks planted the rear wheel firmly in the curves and I no longer feel that worrisome wobble and attendant feeling of insecurity. Adding better tires over the stock Bridgestones was the 'icing on the cake'.

Check your front to back tire alinement.

How's the tread life been on the IRC rear? Is it the heavy duty one? Or high mileage or whatever they call it. I'm running the WildFlare (love it!) up front now for about 6000 miles and it looks to have a lot of life left. And that's a good thing since none of my other front tires made it past 8000 miles.

I have Progressive fork springs and 412HD rears and it handles great. The fork springs are super easy as long as you have the front tire off the ground. Then pop the caps, take the stock ones out and drop the new ones in. Don't worry about the few drops of oil lost during the transfer, the Progressive springs are slightly thicker and have more coils to make up for it.

I have a Honda Shadow Spirit 750 and just replaced chain and front/rear sprockets causing substantial improvement on front end vibration. I think almost anything worn or unbalanced on a bike has a tendency to show up in the front wheel.
