Don't forget he invented multi-track recording along with the modern electric guitar. You might dislike the Gibson guitar but just think how lame all those classic songs would be without overdubs...
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright (1876 - 1944)

hes alright, I just cant stand the obsession over that guitar.
Really?...multitrack recording?...Considering I'm a home recording nerd and have a 16-track in my basement, I find this pretty interesting...Im gonna have to read about him.

Les Paul IS electric guitar.
If only it featured the Warmoth compound radius fretboard...

Some trivia - after a serious car accident years ago, doctors could only restore Paul's right elbow to a fused in place state. He had them set the arm at a slightly less than right angle so he could continue to play.
So many could make his guitars sing. Duane Allman finger picking against a glass Coricidin bottle comes to mind first. BB King and his sound. Derek Trucks and that SG.
Too many to list, and I don't even care much for most electric guitarists (save for 10 or 12 anyway)

My uncle had an original Les Paul and got a pretty penny when he sold it. He favored playing the 12 string acoustic.

Briefly met and saw Les Paul play in NYC not long before 9/11--remember approaching the city and noting the sheer size of the Twin Towers...now, a third tower is gone. He was a genuinely warm and kind gentleman. Rest in peace...
