My families lovable Yorkie. He was my shadow. Only six years old and a congenital heart condition took him in two months from the first symptom. I took him to the vet yesterday morning because he started having trouble breathing again. I didn't realize I wouldn't see him again.

He will be missed, and I can't stop crying. Never thought I could love an animal that much.

Sorry folks, just have to get this grief off my chest.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Losing a pet is like losing a family member and it hurts where it matters the most... in the heart. My sincere condolences.

Live to love, love to live.

I'm sorry Clay. My heart goes out to you. I have lost several dogs in the last 25 years and it is never easy. It is hard to loose a good and faithful friend. I hope you have many good memories to sustain you.

It's a hard thing to bear and you have my sincere sympathies. Take comfort in the reality that there aren't many things in this life that time doesn't heal and it won't be so long that you'll be remembering the little scamp as a sweet memory and not with a heavy, broken heart.

Don't be sorry, Clay, you lost a family member and we know how hard that can be. Four feet or two, we still feel the sting of loss. Buck up, I'm sure you gave him as much pleasure as he gave you. And you have the memories forever.

Having lost a furry friend recently myself, I know how you hurt. Trust that it does get easier and, as mentioned above, the happy memories remain.

Once the worst is over please remember that there are literally millions of other dogs out there who will love you just as much, and need you to care for them. All you have to do is pick them up from the animal shelter.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Thanks, my bride and I have decided this is too painful to ever do again and probably won't have another dog. As the cats pass, or are gifted away we will eventually be "empty nesters". Just so you know, we have 8 cats that are all rescued.

Clay

Pets are little angels in our lives. Unfortunately God only lets us borrow them. He takes them back eventually. ****** hard thing to give them back. Shed many tears myself. His fur will always be in your heart. They shed everywhere ya know.

Clay, I'm sorry for your loss.

Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

I certainly understand your heartache Clay, and I offer my heartfelt condolences on your loss.
I've lost several canine friends over the years. And I'll lose more.
It hurts, but I can't imagine life with out a dog (or two).
I respect your decision, but after the hurt subsides you may reconsider, or not. Either is OK.

Anyway, this is from a card that was sent by our veterinarian after my wife and I lost our first dog many years ago:

We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own live within a fragile circle, easily and often breached.

Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way.

We cherish memory as the only certain immortality,
Never fully understanding the necessary plan.
