Took my America to the dealer to evaluate the front end wobble/shake at speeds greater than approx. 40 mph. Metzler Lasertech had a little over 7000 miles on it and my warrany expires in October so I contacted my local dealer (Found out he is no longer an Authorized Triump dealer, so I had to go to the next dealer which was about 100 miles from Wilmington, NC. The dealership story is for another time...). Anyway they checked my wheel bearing and steering head bearing for any binding and could find none. Put the old tire and wheel on the balancer and it was off by 2.5 oz 180 degrees apart. Had to order a new tire. Chose a 130/70 Metzler ME 880. Now no shakes or wobbles. Yea. I can take my hands of the bars at speed and she tracks straight and true. How is it my rear tire is wearing accordingly and the Lasertech did not. The lasertech even had some minor dry rot too and the rear tire did not and my bike is garaged unless I am out on a ride...

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Now I am looking into getting some type of cruise control mechanism for some longer rides I have planned for later this summer and fall. I can't spare 200 for the breakaway set up, but I am interested in feedback from people who have used the Kaoko setup that Brent has at NewBonneville.

Thanks.

I just installed the Breakway. It works great, but the price still scares me. It looks a little awkward on the bar and was very fussy to install (took 2-3 attempts to get it right, and I've done valve shim changes, etc.).
I have the Kuryakyn grips and this was my only choice. The $90 cruise sure sounds better if you have stock grips.
