On the thumb side of the throttle, there's a non-functioning button...looks like it could be upgraded to cruise control. Anyone know about this?

I think someone wired up a garage door opener and used that spot for the switch.

That's the Kalitwatchawana button. The name was borrowed from Native American culture to add authenticity to the Triumph America theme.

There's nothing there on the UK bikes, either.

Used to be. The switch isn't even available anymore.

I asumed it was a high beam flash button for UK models. My old UK bikes always had a button for flashing the high beam.I guess thats not the case anymore.

This question comes up every now and then on all the different forums. The blank is where the headlight on/off switch once was on non-USA pre 2002 Bonnies.

This issue was cover back in 2003 on this forum. Jack lilley (UK) had the switch in stock, but would not sell it to me, a USA buyer as it was illigal. My understanding is that they wouldn't sell it to a UK buyer unless it was on the bike stock. The switch is not available at all now.

I was going to use it for my light bar.

FYI the Thruxton has a high beam flasher on the left grip.

Excellent idea. Saves grouping for the light on the console.

I'm gonna ask a dumb question...

Is there wiring to the area of the switch even though there isn't a switch there??

Gina 03 America - Pretty stock - except the TBS wheel... 06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel... 09 America - It's very blue....

When I picked up my new Speedmaster, the dealer was pointing out things to me. He pointed to the mysterious button and said "don't ask what this is for" with a goofy grin on his face. So I asked him, "hypothetically speaking, I could put the mini rocket launcher trigger in there, right?". He said, "yes sir, hypothetically speaking, you could" and we laughed about it.

I say throw a nitrous bottle on the bike and use the button for the trigger.
