I know your pain - I live in CT.
We used to have two separate state taxes on motor fuels.
One was based upon a % formula. If the price of fuel would double, so would the % tax.

They want to control your movement by limiting personal transportation and moving everyone into mass transit where we are easier to monitor. This tax works both sides of the equation.

They forgot to mention that there will be a tax on the tax to pay for the processing of the taxed tax. Plus a tax on the taxed tax to ensure further development and research of more taxes.

Just be thankful you don't get as much government as you pay for. Just wait until they make everyone buy a methane gauge so they can start the fart tax.
