A buddy of mine just picked this up:

I'll try to get some photos of it with my Speedmaster this weekend.

Clicked on the pic which brought up a much bigger image on the web page. I am jealous and feeling a little nostalgic looking at the thing. There were so many Triumph choppers back in those days. But that one looks like it's been modernized some. I really like it... your buddy is a lucky dude.

Btw... how did you embed that image as a click-link? I didn't know we could do that in a post.

Much like HTML you just have to wrap the [ URL ] tags around the [ IMAGE ]tags.

I think so too. BTW, he picked it up pretty cheap.

make sure he takes off that stupid road bag on the back fender. Nothing says "stripped down chopper" like an extra pair of clothes and a weeks worth of groceries

After that, you can click the image again to enlarge it one more time.
Thats when you'll notice just how well laid out that thing really is. (Three disc's even).

Very nice. One of the few triumph twin engine choppers that I like.
The top case setup in cool.

Well the 'photos as promised' delivered an in-depth view of a bike that really deserves recognition as old school, classic detail and design. Beautiful attention was given to simplistic tones over almost hidden articulation in what makes up a true masterpiece. I'd ride that anywhere and it inspires me to tear down my own bike and make it a classic. Nice, nice, nice!!!!

Now that thing is pretty darn cool. I usually don't like choppers, but I could see myself riding something like that (might have to get a couple of tattos though). It is very clean also. I might try to get some flames added to the tank. Hope your friend has fun with it.

That has some interesting details:
- three disc brakes
- chain tensioner (upper & lower!)
- key switch plate
- Mikuni carb

How's it run?

very nice. personally, I would lose the mag on the rear. the disc brakes look out of place, but they sure stop you better. a tough call on those...

We rode about 100 miles yesterday, and he had no problems. It really roars to life when you kick it!

The only real issue I noticed was the position of the rear brake pedal, but I think he's planning on relocating it to an easier-to-reach angle.

Great pictures!! I really like the amount of stretch in the frame and the angle of rake, very tough stance without over doing it. Just lower the seat height 2-3 inches front and back and it will look spot on.
