This looks like a straight swap, is it?

Except for the bolts... looks like you'll need sleeves on 'em and length may vary from the originals.

Think Grzegorz had one on his bike at some point.

Gina 03 America - Pretty stock - except the TBS wheel... 06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel... 09 America - It's very blue....

I don't know. If I could see through my sprocket protector right at this moment, it wouldn't be a site that'd visually add to my speedies rather clean lines so to speak.

To then go and pay for something to advertise it

Alright for a show pony bike like the 68 though

You can go to ACE Hardware and buy button head stainless steel the length you need. Every couple of weeks I buy what I need to replace a few. One day I will have all replaced.

Not sure why anyone would want that, but hey whatever turns your crank, er sprocket.

Also looks to be open around around the perimeter, might sling a little sludge, but hey I bought plenty of gizmos cause I thought they were cool.

I saw the "open web" version on a Thruxton at the Kootenay Raid. If'n I was gonna pay money for another sprocket cover, that's the one I'd get.

Michael has a few cool little bits from Joker Machine now.

Ive had my sprocket cover off. I use a Scottoiler and I know for a fact it slings more than a little sludge.

I dig that Joker unit but the mess would be horrific.

Thats also the reason I didnt have D9 do one of these for me:

Yeah, you'd have to use the Dog theory and run the chain without cleaning or oiling for 100k.

You should see that cover in person, pics don't do it justice!
He's right across the river from me.

+1 on the mess everywhere. I'm tinkering on my cover so I've been riding without and my chain has been flinging oil on the engine with out adding oil yet. The clear and webbed cover don't seem to have a "shield" running from bolt to bolt. I guess it they would still sling oil onto the engine. A thin ribbon of stainless tack welded to each tube at the bolts may solve that problem? I"ll post some pics of my idea along with my new fender rack soon...

Dave, that is an extremely well done sprocket cover. You say you've seen that in person? Any idea how he went about cutting it?

Im not Dave but Ill answer anyway...
The work is done on a waterjet (I think) or similar precision cutting machine.
The guy is "D9" aka David Nyne. He hangs out on Newbonnevilleriders.com as a member and vendor.
I beleive he quoted me in the $180 range to do one for my America. I dont know if he has other designs or what he would charge for it.
His contact info is here: http://www.newbonnevilleriders.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2305

David is best known for his lay flat brackets for Bonny guages. Ive often wanted to buy a Bonny just so I could have one of his guage brackets.

Great photo of the Union Jack sprocket cover...but I really like the custom paint job on the adjacent cover of the human form genuflecting with what looks to be a grey bus/van behind them

+1 on the mess... made a homemade version from plexi and clear tube for the spacers... will make a mess, and you have to remove to fully clean, but i dig it and will leave it on, just cuz it does look kewl and is a lot lighter.

Or maybe cut the face off a stock sprocket cover and replace it with clear plastic.
