Oi All . Mate off the JJ referred me to here and it looks like a good place to hang out . Here's a set of bars I made for my Bonnie America . They are 1.25" main tuning with integral risers and 1" bar end pieces . Comfy and ride very well.Just need to get the matching paint next time .

Smart bars must be that new high tech metal. You know the one that all bikes are made of. Ivisible metal cos nobody can see bikes......or the bars Apart from that welcome and do you have any Jaffa cakes.

Bolted through from underneath Mountain. Ran an internal threaded plug in the base of each tube to avoid having to stuff about with risers.

Aaaaaahhhh, I think I understand. So the bottom of the bars is closed off (solid) with a threaded plug?

Yeh mate . Means that you have no adjustment but you do all the adjustment before you weld them up. This is the third set I've made for this bike . Made a set of Whiskey Bars & a set of 70's style Tillers as well. A mate dropped by my workshop while I was welding up the Whiskey Bars and nagged me until I sold them for his Speedie . With the Tillers , bloke was picking up some stuff I sold him on Fleabay , spotted the Tillers in raw steel that I was test fitting to the bike and made me an offer I couldn't refuse for his America ...... With this set , I hid them while I was making them and since mounting them have had decent interest in making some more . But , that will have to wait until after I get back from crewing at Bonneville BUB's this year with the G/F's dad's big bore Vincent . Hopefully meet up with some of the blokes off the board there as well.

I think they look great but would look better with short stem mirros. Nice job.

Nice concept working without risers. And that workmanship looks top notch! Good on ya mate and thanks for the info. And it sounds like you got a pretty cool event to be a part of. Enjoy!!

You did a great job more power to you to do the work yourself and like it/ What did you use for the bars though just curious?

Made them from 0.120" wall DOM same as I use to make rigid frames mate . Would have used 0.060" wall pieces for the bar ends but was out of stock . Plus , I have a set of Kellerman turn signals I was ummming & ahhhing about using that had an O.D. of 0.750" so it made sense to use the heavier material . Having the bars where they are cleaned up the forward view of the road and I designed them to use the stock cables so it's pretty straight forward to fit them . For my own set I use an M12 bolt with the stock triple tree reamed out to suit as it takes the stress load alot better and makes changing to aftermarket Harley risers a breeze too but for the copies I'll generally be using M10 same as stock.

Looks good. Black bar end mirrors would look good. You going to move the signals?

Yeh mate. Was considering Kellermans but a set of Ness Eagle Eyes off the bottom triple tree and a matching set up back just might do the trick. Plus , I have a set laying about which helps.
