My first bike was a 1964 Bonny with chrome side covers and big pipes that sounded great. Still have that bike and is in the rebuilding stage. Now I have a sweet black 2004 America with lots of chrome and xtras but would like to have chrome on the sides like my old 64. Anybody know of where you can get the side cover in chrome (preferably etched with the America name instead of a decal) and a custom one on the left to cover over the battery box and cowl below the seat?

Thanks as this i my first post.

The factory used to offer the right side cover in chrome but they had quality issues and discontinued them. Some chrome shops can chrome plastic (I saw it on TV so it must be true). A number of vendors have a chrome battery cover, including Triumph.

Oh, and, welcome to the site and thank you for posting in the right forum.

Yeah, seems Triumph no longer offers a chromed version of their right side cover. Piper (from this forum) has one on his bike but says they are no longer available.

You can still get the battery chrome cover however. Like Friar says, some companies can chrome plastic... where there is a will there is a way sort of thing. But I know what you mean... that chrome side cover is sweet!

Oh and btw... welcome!
