Otay, I am close to striking a deal with a secure storage facility that is within easy walking distance from my home to store a bike in fully running condition, so I am now in the market for a low mileage 'J' serial America. As far as customizing goes, it will be performance first and foremost. I want to take it all the way (1200 if possible) and have the engine work professionally done. (I will still have no place to work on it myself) I see lots of talk about the 360 models with righteous strokers, but has anyone successfully stroked the 270 yet?
Anyone?

Thanks Frank and Gregger.
Bonneville Performance lists their 1200cc stroker as producing 88-104 ponies and 86-90 ftlbs torque. Yowza!
If I don't go the Harley route (for the first time in ages they are actually making real deals on prices), I plan to take what money the Thunderbird lists for and get an America then turn it into a Thunderbird slayer. If I get the bike for $5,000 that leaves $8,000 to feed into engine mods.
Muah-hahahahaha!

Now that's something I'd like to see. Make sure you keep us all in the loop progress wise Leno
