I've just seen an ad for Aviva pensions..... with an blue America in it. Fortunately for me it was blue and blue, not blue and white. But it was about pensions and these old geezers going on holiday on the America and having the money from the pension fund to get the bike and have a great time... BUT I'M NOT OLD!!!!! Why is the America seen as an old geezers bike...??? And no, I can't find it on line so you can see it.

Or perhaps it's showing that a person smart enough to have the financial ability to retire, especially in these times, is also smart enough to pick the best bikes of it's type to travel on. As for old, based on his looks, I'm probably older than him, and I wouldn't buy anything else.

hmph.....im only 25, ride an 08 america, and wouldn't be caught on anything else. if it bears appeal to ME it cant be equated to an "old guys" bike......can it? then again, i'm a lot more mature than most in my age group.

OMG!!! What if... just what if you ARE riding a geezer bike? Then what? Yikes!!
Hey relax... a lot of us old farts cut our teeth on a Trumpet and well... we get a bit nostalgic about such things. They're back and they're pretty nice. You're gonna have to share the road with the likes of us. Yeah!!!!!

well.....having cut my teeth with bikes (literally) as soon as i got my learners permit i've had a few bikes that have come and gone over the past 10 years. first bike was an 82 cb750 custom. mom hated it (of course) it looked like sheite but ran like a raped ape. after a few years traded it in for a vlx750. gramps had a bunch of older bikes in his garage (norton, bsa, harley, guzzi, yamaha). had various dirt bikes throughout the years currently a kdx 250. i guess what i'm trying to say is that i like my america better than any of the others that ive ridden or owned.

Its subtle nationalistic add placement. Aviva goes back to England in the 1600s. Most know it as Commercial Union though. They are trying to say they are iconic and always around like the Triumph. Or, they have a long history like an old geezer

I don't see the problem really! As a 50 yr old! ps No way would I have ridden a ff style bike as a youngster!
