Yesterday I picked up my 09 Bonneville SE, who, shortly into our first ride, told me her name was Bonnie Marie.

Can I still come over to BA.com to play sometimes?

We'll kick it around at our next moder-tator retreat. To assist in our deliberations, what colour is this new Bonneville SE?

I don't believe you bought one. If you come here to play you have to bring pictures.

Bonnie Marie is black, of course:

I traded my America- I had her for sale, but no bites. I trust she will continue to bring her joy to the world with her next owner.

Getting myself ready to go show her off and play with her now!

Nothing wrong with the Bonnie SE. It's a fun bike.

Sweeeeet... man I love those things! The Thruxton exhaust really goes well with the cast wheels... kinda like the 80's Trumps.. very cool look. I'll bet it handles pretty sweet with the 17's front and rear too... I need to demo one of those things some day.

Beautiful bike Paula. I don't think they'll let you come around here though if you don't have an America or Speedy. They're pretty strict you know!

Are you going to have to lower it like you did with MPB?

Oh, OK-

Today, Bonnie Marie brought me to Patriots Place in Foxboro. The place is a METROPOLIS, entirely devoted to that game where men throw a ball really far and knock each other down!

I might...KingofFleece has been coaching me on shock measurements. I'll probably go with Progressives, and this time drop in the lowered fork springs too (that tiny bit of "off level" of the 412's on my America with the stock fork springs drove my perfectionistic nature NUTS).

Being that it's lowered already with the smaller front wheel and the shaved seat height, I'm on the balls of my feet, but with the lighter weight of the bike and less angle on the front end, it's very manageable for me.

My only complaint is that my shins are bruised! LOL- I'm not used to the peg position, have always ridden bikes with forward controls, and have been banging my shins a bit while backing up.

Nice bike. I couldn't ride it because with my folded hip I have
to be streached out on a bike, but it looks good on you.

Great looking bike

I miss my 2000 Bonnie, it rocked like only a Triumph can. It had TORS on when I got it and made that distinctive 360 degree sound even better. As much as I like the America's 270 'cruiser' sound, there is something about the way that 'veteran' parallel twin sound that makes any ride better.

Also, as much as I want an America, I am sorely tempted to get a Bonnie and build a custom cruiser from it instead. For one thing I would not have to swap drive sprocket and clutch covers. (C'mon, am I the only one who thinks the BA/Speedy clutch cover is a little too mass production cruiserish?) I have never been a fan of the America's offset engine placement within the frame. I understand it was a low budget solution for larger rear tire clearance, but that does not make it any more palatable.
