Are the SS's louder than the Bub's. I think I've narrowed it down to these two, but I don't want to be too loud. Thanks.

I think they are pretty equal in loudness. The Specialty Spares sound better to me.
Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

Previous thread on the same subject I wrote: Quote:
I can speak to the tone and loudness.... My bike...07 America SS long cannons w/ freak. Steves bike (Conwy)...07 America Bubs w/ stock box. I had to ride his bike after a slight misshap so heres my .02
SS seem louder to me at certain times. Their tone seems to change at different rpms. I.e. at 2000-3000 rpm, not loud at all. 3000-4000...loud as can be. At 5000 not as loud ... as a matter of fact kinda sedate but sounds great. Bubs seem more conistent in sound through the rpm range. I honestly never noticed a change regardless of rpm.
SS at idle...mmmmm....love it. Crack that throttle and the beast awakens. Get cruising at a nice pace and mmmmm...No regrets here man.
Bubs...nice pipes, look good, sound good. I hate to say it but you wont go wrong there either.
Both pipes are great and both look and sound different.

The shop that installed my SS pipes (D&D Pensacola) now sells Bubs other than TORs. I like the sound of the SS better as I've had a chance to hear both next to each other. I would say the Bubs are slightly louder. I'm very happy with my SS pipes. Both sound better than TORs with additional Hp to boot.

I also would like to add that the SS pipes LOOK better. The straight lines (to me) of the SS look better than the increasing diameter of the Bubs. I like the slash cut look although a lot of people like the cannons.

Yes. If your bike is a carb model, they package a jet kit with mains and pilots. They also sell AI removal kits.

The other plus for SS in my experience is I'm not aware of anyone needing to return them for weld or plating problems, etc. I think all the other brands have had issues in those areas.
