Yup ...lots of celebs goin down. One fella who passed in June of this year who has gotten no fanfare......
"Shifty Powers" of "Band of Brothers" fame passed. Now he is a TRUE American hero and in a way so many of us can understand a real celebrity.
He of the now very famous 506th PIR of WW2 fame is gone. I shall miss him......
much more than Michael.

Geez, just his delivery of that line "don't leave home without them" makes me want to run out and get some, but then I'd be leaving my home.

The sad thing is that the news idiots are so stuck on that child molester with the gurlyboy voice that they don't seem to have even noticed the passing of all these well known and well liked celebrities.

Like I said........
"Who are the real Heroes?" Farrah and Ed and Karl deserve their respect.
Darrel "Shifty Powers" 506th PIR parachuted in on D-Day...fought all the rest of the way till the end of the war in Europe. Died in June quietly and with dignity.
I heard a soldier has been captured in Iraq by Taliban insurgents.....he wont get much media coverage I expect...as they are to busy sucking up to MJ.

While this thread is entitled "Another 'oldie' bites the dust", at only 57 years of age when he passed yesterday at his home in Managua, Nicaragua, I'd like to add the name of boxing great Alexis Arguello to the rolls of the recently deceased who made their mark in the world.
The Arguello vs Aaron Pryor 1982 Junior Welterweight Title Fight in Miami's Orange Bowl, which I remember watching on TV with my Pop, was probably the greatest fight I've ever seen.
RIP Alexis.
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
