 The ultimate in bad PR. Just makes me shake my head in disbelief. I couldn't resist clicking the pic as I drove by. My bike would be tagged and bagged in a second if I did this.

I'd send that picture to his chief and hope he had the backbone to discipline the arrogant SOB. Unlikely, cause of the union but you never can tell.

I took several. I think I have to send this on to IA and all others that will view it.
The simple arrogance of it makes it noteworthy. He needs an attitude readjustment. Clearly his judgment needs some work.
They are given a public trust, with that comes the responsibility to try to set the example.

employees at Wal Mart where I work do that all the time with their bikes. I don't but most do.

That "The law does not apply to us cops!" attitude is pretty typical...
While LEO professional associations were on record as supporting various cell phone legislation in Texas, they vigorously lobbied AGAINST any proposal that did not specifically exclude cops from compliance.

There are numerous locations around this burgh where bikers routinely park similarly and I really believe the LEO look the other way.
Walmarts, malls, etc. It may not be legal but I do think the coppers look the other way...or they have better things to do.

I routinely park in the cross hatched areas at the end of a row, but never next to a handicap space. If you turn him don't give your name or you can expect to be stopped every time he or his buddies see you on the road.

Now that I do too, I'll park at the end of a row in a cross hatched or outlined area but not the handicapped areas. I also park in the planters and on sidewalks at times.

Me too, Ian. I will slip in anywhere I can as long as I don't create a possible burden for others or get in the way of anybody or anything.
I've seen others put their bike in a questionable spot and then spout off, "Anybody even thinks of touching my bike and I kill em".
