I have gone through alot of bikes over the past 7 years (of street riding) and have to say I'm officially hooked! I truly love the Speedmaster and envision myself looking at it like Clint Eastwood looked at his Gran Torino, ya know drinking beer on the porch as an old man and staring at the bike and saying "Sweet"! How many of ya'll feel like you will never part with the machine? just curious.

Mine is with me for life. For my other bikes, I already have a plan to sell them so I can buy a '67 Triumph Daytona 500 from a friend of mine, but the America will be with me to the end of its days. Or mine, I guess whichever comes first.

My SM is part of my collection and I will never part with it. Once I wear out the top end I foresee a BB or maybe even a BB stroker.

Hoorah!
Personally, I have had over 25 cars in the last 30 years. Loved them all. Mostly older than I am.
Now I have 2 bikes. Love the speedy, but I don't attach myself to it either. I like them all, to drive/ride. That's it. I owned these: 64 Studebaker GT Hawk 61 an 62 Buick Skylarks (one was a wagon) 65 Studebaker Commander 61 Jeep wagoneer 51 Studebaker Pickup 75 Monza Spyder v8 77 Buick Skyhawk 71 Mach 1 Mustang 93 Dodge Cummins Turbo Diesel Pickup just to name the highlights. I really only feel bad about selling the Hawk and the Dodge.
I'll get over it.

Oh I do love my TBA but to be honest we are still dating. I have yet to get that fit-like-a-glove feeling from her but I'm doing mods and adding things to get 'er that way. I know most of you are married to your gal but for me we're still getting to know each other. We've been dating since March.
She does however give me a rush each time I rub her tank, if that's any indication of love.
Live to love, love to live.

After around 850 mile in the last two days, i'm actually thinking about selling my America in favor of a used FJR1300 or ST1300. My long legs and bony @ss just can't handle more than 300 miles in a day without significant pain. It hasn't been too big a deal for most of the more than 51000 loving miles she has carried me, carving up all the twisties within a few hours of my home, but i find myself wanting to venture farther from home. I don't want to sell her, but i'm a man of limited means, so two bikes in the driveway isn't a possibility for me these days. That said, i'd buy another one in a New York minute if i get the opportunity. I truly love this bike... it must be the fatigue talking.

Get the sport tourer! Just keep the America, I have a Harley Fatbob and am planning to buy a Kawasaki Versys as well, the more the better IMHO!

I said 30 some odd years ago that I would always own and ride some sort of bike. About that time I spent a winter in Utah and learned about snow skiing. When I came back home biking just didn't have the same attraction it once had. I fixed up my 73 bonnie bobber and took it down the road. Then engine was starting to seeze so I shut it down. When I got her home I took her down and never put her back together. She was revived later but I never rode again till 03. Now that I'm back in the saddle, I've had the misfortune to have totalled an 06SM and recently wrecked my 06TBA. I'm healing and slowly rebuilding my bike. I've been riding my backup bike a little but am a bit apprehensive. My church family and neighbors think that I'm crazy to keep ridin' but I'll ride till I'm unable to swing my leg over the saddle. However, I may not ride as much as I was riding but in the event that I do, I was planning to get me a heavy cruiser, probably a RocketIII, for cross country touring. I'm 51, soon to be 52, and my bones ache a lot therefore the alure of a rolling couch for cross country touring is most intriguing. My name is Hubert, and I'm a bikeaholic!
Its more fun to be ridin'! I'm still ridin

I know how you feel. My dad(65 years old) finally let go of the image of the Road King for the comfort of a Gold Wing. The passion has returned! Hence the 850 mile weekend ride... Now i need something to help me hang with him.

Hmm........ I've only lost one bike I've bought, and that wasn't my fault.
I still have my learner bike (in fact she's sat on the front garden right now and I've been using her for the last 3 weeks.) the 03 IS the love of my life (I've said recently if she'd been the one stolen I'd have been suicidal - or homicidal.....) and I don't really intend on getting rid of the 3HW. The 09.... is a learning curve. Though I said that about the 06. And I do miss him. I have a tear in my eye just thinking about him.
dam it.... am I a bikeaholic too?
Gina
03 America - Pretty stock - except the TBS wheel...
06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel...
09 America - It's very blue....

I have my 07 Speedy and my 04 Super Glide Sport that will be with me till the end...I have a SX Bobber being built right now, and a old HondaMatic with a side car, those can probably be parted with.....I will have 1 more probably in the next year or so, it will be a Rocket3 or a Thunderbird, havent decided yet..that one will also be with me till the end...you see, i have 3 sons and not much else to leave them, so i cant leave anyone out...Hopefully they'll have as much fun riding as i did, the oldest 20 is already riding street bikes, started at 16 and the other 2 have been riding dirt since 3 or 4 and they love to ride with me and in the side car. So im sure they will appreciate the gesture

I've had mine since April 5:th -02 and will probably never part with it. I've put so much of myself into it and still do. Every little "improvement" is bonding even more. I also find myself like you just sitting and looking at her with a smile.

My America is also from the 5:th of April -02. She is my second Triumph. My first was a Bonneville T120R which I bought new in England summer -69 and drove home to Sweden. Later during my military service I traded her, late -71, for a Ford Cortina GT - a terrible mistake I have deeply regreted ever since.....! So, no more sales that is for shure! By the way my old bike is sort of still alive; a later owner moved the engine into a chopper frame and it still see's action once in a while. Hasse

Is that a Carmen Ghia? First good look I had at the 4 wheeled toy, looks like it's in good shape and a fun addition. Cool toys.

I beg to differ. One of those babies, the sexiest one, carried me back to Montana in style.

After riding everything from a Sears 106 (in 1969) to a Gold Wing, this was to be my "forever bike". Big enough, yet simple enough - and the knowlege that if I become unable to ride, I can park it in the garage and know that my heirs will be able to resurrect it. I hope I don't have to decide who gets it for a long, long time.
