If you (collectively) ever (unite and revolt) get tired (bored to the point of tears) of my ride posts (not another one) let me know... otherwise indulge in the afterglow of another ride with our mother who art on earth.

Today in a rather impulsive way me and Buddy headed out again for another adventure in our own backyard called the Kootenays. "Where shall we go this time?", I asked my fine cyclin' brother? And we chose a route of unbridled beauty and charm way over hither and yon. You see... in these parts and on any given day, one can chose a particular ride over any number of others based on whim and whim only. And we decidedly picked a circle route (the Kaslo-New Denver loop) that took us through some of the most unexploited regions of the planet... just a few short legs away.

This is a pictorial of that journey.

First stop... just a pullover not far from home.

Next stop at Kokanee Creek Park (no pic) for a lunch break, then on to ... you guessed it!

Talked to Mary (owner) who is busy with preparations for the up and coming rally.

Next stop... Coffee Creek. Nice refreshing negative ion air at that stop, enough to make your nostrils flare.

and

From there we just rode to Kaslo so no pics but after a cookie stop at Teresa's shop we headed towards New Denver. This pass is rife with pioneer history but today hardly anyone lives up there. It's a harsh environment in the winter but breathtaking during summer.

If there is a heaven this place MUST be it.

Remember this? Same place as photo above only back in April.

Got down off the pass and into New Denver and what do we see? Oh, oh... the valley's got rain!

Hung a left for home and ended up riding through rain which was friggin' invigorating! A beautiful warm, summer rain making everything so fresh and clean. Only problem was with the deer... they were everywhere and with rain soaked goggles it was REAL hard to see them.

Stopped at Lemon Creek just to wipe the goggles and share our invigoration with the whole affair. Waited a bit under a tree... it stopped raining and we carried on.

The rest of the ride was cool because it just rained but it sure was fresh. Ya know... since I quit smoking I sure enjoy the scent of the mountains more than before. Anyway... we just cruised the last hour or so without stop (but plenty of slowing down to avoid deer) to home and called it a day. It was about 9:30 and I for one was blissed right out. Fantastic!!

I'm going to have to request that you no longer post your ride pics. You see, if you do, I may pack up all my worldly belongings and move there immediately. Beautiful pics, man that looks like some great riding country. I sit here in 100 degree heat and humidity and my bike hasn't moved in a week or so .
Great pics and stories, I'm very jealous!

Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

I agree with Dave. I'm about ready to fall off the grid here in the USofA, what with all the new government intrusion into EVERY FACET of our lives! Looks like some gorgeous, rugged wilderness you got there. Maybe time to realize my childhood dream of living like Grizzly Adams, but with a Triumph (and maybe a gal...) in the cabin with me.

Hey... we could relive the 60's here guys. Back then a lot of yanks slid across the border seeking refuge from the problems of the day, and set up shop in the hills around here. Many of 'em still here. It was crazy times in those days but I managed to hang on by riding my '59 Triumph!!

And lately I've been thinking... get a bunch of people together to buy up 160 acres and call it home. I wanna get outta Dodge and away from my bonkers neighbours. I love the quiet wilderness affords.

Live to love, love to live.

Really enjoy the pics. I think we could use more of that on this site.
