Okay, as I promised in that other thread, banal rant #2. All the t.v. stations are switched to digital now. The promise was a WAY BETTER AND CLEARER PICTURE. Well, they were right about that. My picture is a little better. WHEN I HAVE A PICTURE!!! It seems that every little thunderstorm or errant cloud that comes my way will interfere with the signal. We only have an atennae, but a high quality one at that. We'll be watching one of the programs on CBS, or the like, and then.... the picture breaks up and goes out, but usually for only a minute or two. Get that, ONLY A MINUTE OR TWO! And what could possibly be missed for only a couple of minutes of a movie or show? A murder? A critical plot line? A scantilly clad young woman playing volleyball? I don't care that much, cause there are only a couple of shows that I even half heartedly try to catch, the "vast wasteland", and all that. But, BOY IS MY WIFE MAD! She likes t.v. a little better than me. but to repeat, thanks for the clearer picture, all you braniac engineers and well meaning people of Congress. I rather enjoy the CLEARER picture, when I have one at all!

Well Rich, I THINK you're in luck, ol' buddy! Ya see, I just read somewhere that if you hang a USED refrigerator water filter onto your TV antenna then THAT'LL make your picture come in clear as a bell, dude!!! And didn't I ALSO just read somewhere that YOU expect to have a vast supply of those used refrigerator water filters in the near future???!!! (lucky YOU, huh?!)

Sorry, Rich. Forget that whole "hang a water filter on your antenna" thing I just mentioned. Turns out it was just some bad information from the media again. And sooooo, I was thinkin' maybe the problem with your TV reception is where you located your antenna? I hope you know that one should NEVER mount their TV antenna anywhere near their home-made elevator!!! (yep...every time you push the down-button your picture goes down TOO!!!)

You're not trying to receive the original channels are you?
What's your zip, and what station are you trying to receive? The new digital signals are exactly the same strength or higher than the analog, HOWEVER, fringe signals won't come in as snowy anymore, they just won't come in, or will be blocky.

To answer; my only employee is a semi-retired tv repair guy and satelite technician, 38 years in the business. He tells me my antenae is correct, my rotor needs to be south, and EVERYBODY around here is having trouble. I know the stations are not the same. We live at the top of a hill and the small town below us is getting even worse reception.

I want to thank you for these rants of yours...while I am laid off, fat and drunk most of the time, my t.v. and fridge work great and I really don't give a crap about people on cell phones (It's never gonna change so get used to it) soooo I must believe my life is good.

I got saterlite tv. Love it, the reception is brilliant. Except when a gnat farts in the next zip code, then the picture goes out and i get a message saying "searching for signal" OK, so i exaggerate about the gnat. But, when i brought this sytem the salesman assured me that in the years he had had the system he had never lost a signal due to rain, thunder, lightning or what ever. Muggins here believed him. The fricking liar. if there's even a hint of a storm out goes the signal....pisses me off no end. Especially if its when the F1 cars are charging around the track or when The Arsenal are playing their sexy football. Moral to this story. Never, Never Ever believe a salesman!
