I have to say I disagree with the "hands free only" legislative route. It might be "hands free" but its not "brain free". I will admit that I talk on the phone while driving, but I don't think I'm safer when I'm driving in NY where people just idly talk into a headset.

I pulled up to a stop light behind a van. I kept about 20 feet between us. I kept the speedy in 1st gear and looked in the mirror to see a large Chev Suburban speeding up. No slowing down. A woman on the cell with a cup of coffee in the other hand. Nothing on the wheel. I let out the clutch and bailed for the sidewalk the safety over the lawn. I managed to get out of the way and dumped tne bike on the concrete and grass. Then I heard the impact of the Chevy hitting the van in front of me. The driver came out of van bleeding from head cut and with a tire iron in his hand. The woman started to scream for help. I watched from the lawn as he pulverizied her hood and roof until the police arrived. Then I gave my statement and watched as they hauled the two vehicles away.
They are out to kill us. Watch out. If I had not kept an eye on the mirror I would not be writing this now.

After I posted that I thought, "waitagoddamnedsecond, he's using a computer, ain't he?" Not only do I have a cell phone, I no longer have a land line at home. If I could have a land line at home for $10 or less per month for local service only, I would've kept it. But it's nearly $30 a month. Screw that.
That would be a waste of money where I live because we have to have a phone line for internet access. Cable doesn't come here (although the local cable co has a line on the utility poles across the road) and satellite internet is often slower than dialup.

Well, I suppose that's a valid point alright, newt.
Yep! I guess it's kind of like there's some people who can use apostrophes, and some that can't EITHER, huh?!
(sorry bro, I couldn't resist that one)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Here's a thought. What about the LEO's who drive around reading their computer screen while talking on the radio and monitoring the CB all while trying to look for those of us who might be violating some law? And while doing all of the above they are juggling a cup of coffee and a donut.
Yes! I am a Redneck. Any Problems?
