I just ordered a pair of progressive springs from BC. Does anyone know what it would cost to have a dealer install these? I've got a Haynes manual, and am usually not too bad with mechanics, but I don't have a bike jack or lift. So, if the shop is going to charge more than the cost of a lift, I'll do it myself...
Thanks.

I would think a dealerships labor rate is in the $60.00 per hour range. You can get a decent jack/lift for not much more than that. The fork spring install is extremely easy. I'd recommend getting a jack and do it yourself.

Extremely easy, like Rob said. Get a bike jack, you'll use it so much more than you realize. Besides, I think dealer labor rates are higher than $60 an hour.

Changed my fork springs on the centerstand - very straightforward, use the proper socket and be careful not to crossthread the top plugs. Very popular and easy mod-with the weight off the forks, spring tension is very manageable.

Yea, my stealers rate is $80 for the Jap lines, but $95 for duc/triumph! They say he's the "Triumph Man"!
B.S.!!!
Reminds me of myself three decades ago. My partner and I had a repair shop. I would charge $10 to work on Mopars, $12 for GM, and give the Fomoco crap to my partner, or charge $15 an hour.
And you may see me tonight

It's 2 bolts on each shock. The back tire needs to be just resting on the ground so theres no weight on the shock studs. This helps slide the shocks on an off with ease. Go for it man... it's simple.

Thanks y'all... So, "extremely easy" sounds good. Are there any online instructions? Do I have to remove the forks... drain the oil, etc..? Or can I just pull the stock springs and drop the new ones in?

Take the caps off, pull the old springs, drop in the new.

That would work for the rear.
