I have just finished doing some work on my bike and I have a 20mm circlip "leftover"!! Anyone have any ideas? I had the front wheel off, and the brake & front guard (fender). I also removed the foot controls and the control bar. I have taken all of these off before and never come across the circlip before.

I bet it's from the right foot peg area. Can't remember the exact place, but it goes down there.

Nope, not that - neither is it the clip that holds the footpeg pin in place.

maybe it was just laying on the ground before you started and you didn't see it until you were done

I was beginning to think that way myself, but I am sure I heard it fall from the bike while I was working on it.

number 6 is to big and can't fall off so easy it seats in grove and is behind dust seal

the axle is about 20mm (3/4 inch, no?). I know that it is retained by it's nature, but ya never know about things. Shaun might have gotten adventurous and a bit over involved?  I'd certainly at least pull the front axle bolt and look to see if it is in place.

axle might be.. but circlip is about size of bearing outer diameter and there is seal on top of it
got some idea....maybe I lost something last time when we changed my front end

Wade, my daughter and myself spent about 40 minutes looking for one of those little buggers once when he was tightening up his foot controls. He was certain it had gone into the grass, but 40 minutes later, it was laying in my tool bag...
