General info on a 4 yr old bike ('05 America): Serviced every 6000 miles On second set of tires Replaced broken chain guard at about 13k Front brake cable loop on fender broke within months of ownership Replaced sprocket and chain at 27,500 miles Still have original battery and brake pads Ninety percent of my riding is on the Interstate and State Hwy. Very pleased with bike.

As I approach 10k miles on my America, I was wondering who on BA.com has the highest mileage on their BA/SM?

Ed, Sorry but that honour is Charlie's. He got that title a long time ago...And that is even after he got the sprint. Me? A measly 78k on Vera and Cinnamon Girl bought used July 31st, 2007 with 15,415 miles now has 44,716.9 miles. Let's see, in 21 months I put 29,301.9 miles on Cinnamon Girl. Not enough time to ride either.

Regardless of who has the miles racked up, that's the wrong pic. I believe that is Col. Joe Ryan from Von Ryans Express chasing down the train to N. Italy.

May have met him, If he's the same person that headed up a motorcycle show last fall at Arlington Park. I'm terrible with names and faces.

wow 78k and 63k, I'm psyched. at 23k one set of tires, one chain, one valve service, one set of rear brakes, 2nd fronts are close. not many washings I'm terrible at keeping it clean, but this is a wonderful machine.

Speaking of high mileage I met an old guy in VA at a bar we ate at. The guy was in his late 70s and only been riding 6 years. He was on his 3rd bike because he wore the first 2 out and the 3rd had 40,000 miles on it. He has been in every state on his bike except Hawaii. The other guys he rides with said you can't keep him off his bike. The other 2 guys he was with at the bar. It was a small bar where you wait to be seated, since it was just Wendy and me the waitress asked if we minded sitting with these guys. We said we didn't and it turned out they were locals and regulars at that place. The longer we sat there the more people sat at our table. It was probably the best time we had on the trip sitting and talking with these people.

Come to think of it, the brakes are mainly used at the 5 stoplights on the way to work. At that point, I've down shifted and going at a snails pace. So, I rarely use my brakes.

I'm around 29,5 on an 05 and will need new front brake disks before the winter. On second chain/sprockets. I tend to ride fast and brake hard. Reminds me. I need to go adjust my chain........

Turned over 50,000 yesterday, and put an additional 250 on her for good measure. That song from the motor is still music to my ears!

54K here now. Never ran better, never felt better.
Finally upped the mains to 140's 2 weeks ago and have her dialed in good. I'm eating the two tires I put on earlier this year - if I keep riding they won't make 2010.
Last oil report came back good, too, so the sky's the limit on how long these motor's last. Here's to finding out!
Keith Houston Ridin'Texas '04 Speedmaster AI removed, Pingle, UNI Filter, 1 shim, straight-through slash-cut TORs, Stage 1 DynaJet, 140 mains, 3 turns, 16/42 final drive, 115K 2020 T120 Black

Interesting - did you use Blackstone Labs? If you could scan/post the report, I'd love to read it. I did one on my daily-driver car last year.

Another episode of why the Lone Ranger just loves oil talk. Lone Ranger, "Tonto, how do you determine your engine's health via the engine oil?" Tonto, "oil like stream at place i last killed doe, oil good Oil look like moccasin after mushrooming in buffalo prairie, not so good"
