Well finally took some pics of the new chrome wheels and Metzler tires. They look really great. Lots of positive comments. They are a lot easier to keep clean and no more tube problems.

If I didn't have the TBS wheel, I'd certainly look into a set of those. I actually like the wagon wheels, though I'd like to see the newer Speedmaster wheels in chrome, too.

Those are great lookin' wheels and they really enhance the look of your bike. Would you share the brand name and mounting details?

John's right. They are Triumph factory chrome wheels. Got them for $999 US when I was in the States a couple of months ago so the shipping and duty were zero. Many of the Harley riders here are impressed with the quality and price. Installation was a breeze - straight swap of my spoked wheels for these.

Mick, I have had flats twice on the road in the last 2 summers. Both times they have left me stranded. Picked up nails both times. It's almost impossible to repair a tube tire on the highway without removing the wheel assembly. A tube has to be patched to be repaired. A tubless tire can be plugged on the road with a plug repair kit. You can be on your way in minutes vs 6 hours the last time it happened to me. Compound the problem of limited cell phone coverage where we live and .... well you get the picture. This gives me peace of mind

I switched from spokes to '08 mags as well, for the same reason. Mine aren't chrome, though. Those chrome ones are nice indeed.

Triumph number is a A9738144. Picked mine up at Shoptriumph.com but they aren't advertising the wheels any more. madss.com also has them for a discount price. Same triumph number http://www.madss.com/eshopprod_cat_4966-...t_-_America.htm

Did you hang on to the spoked rims?

Yes, still have the spoked rims. Not ready to let them go just yet though.

I'm with Greggor on this, was thinking about the flat tire issue with my TBA spoked wheels and just hate the idea of being stranded. Just bought a set of rims (not chrome) on Ebay for $320. The price for peace of mind I guess, will hand on to the spokes for now I think though.
