Dear all,
I a have a 2004 Triumph america, and the speedometer is not working, i replaced the cable and still didn't work, i removed the cable and rolled the front tire, the mechanism in the front tire is working, what is the problem? is there a part in the gauge that can go bad? or i have to change the whole gauge??? is the gauge repairable?
thanks for all the help!

I'm beginning to wonder if there was a batch of speedos that were faulty. I ride an '03 TBA and the speedo doesn't die, but it does fly off the charts randomly. I can be going 60k and the needle will be hovering around 140k. All over the map. And now I hear of yours... hmmmmm.

If the speedo is like the one on my 08 TBA try taking off the black piece (90 degree angle gear)on the back of the speedo keeping the cable attached and raise your front wheel off the ground and spin. Watch and see if the gears move, if they do the problem is most likely in the speedo itself. Then I believe you can reach inside the back of the speedo and turn the gear to see if the needle moves. Disclaimer: I have not done this but I have taking apart the speedo to put in LED lights and from what I remember it should be possible.
