hi all i have been having a problem getting a comfy ride on my america so have made a few changes i have changed seat for a standard speedy seat and fitting footboards now it just dont feel right happier with baords over pegs and with seat chioce but position just dont seen right to me i recon i need risers. what sort of size should i be looking for ? and just high large a set can i get without having to replace cables ?

First , how tall are ya and are your arms long or short ? I got some of the stock tall risers ( Speedy's , I think ) and now it's like a laid - back sofa kinda ride . Current cables will work , just may hafta move the throttle cables to the other side .

I used Jim's Spacers to correct that problem for me. Brought the bars up an inch or so and back somewhat. Gave me a more up right seating position for little money. http://www.spacerjim.com/TriumphAmer.htm?

I bought a set of these from a member here and it helped make my ride more comfortable. But as Wade said, a lot depends on your height and arm reach. I'm about 5'7" so having the bars a bit closer seemed to help. BTW, I have footboards, stock seat (gotta do sumpin about that sucker) and yeah, risers.

i am about 5' 10" tall and think need to bring them towards me so i sit more upright as wade describes a sofa ride i suffer with a dodgy back so i need to sort these out thanks for your replies

I'm 5'8" and speedie risers works for me great. Completed yesterday 440 miles ride out and no problem don't want to mention 1100 miles on one go  year ago and I'm still alive

just to update i got some risers of ebay 3" with a 1" pullback on them and they spot one and only cost £28 bargain
