So, I changed the oil. When I look through the watch glass it's really emulsified...lots of mixed in air bubbles. I started my Suzuki and looked and it doesn't have that. Is there a special procudure for changing oil besides regular old drain, replace filter and fill? I've never had an oil cooled bike, wondered if maybe air could get trapped up there like in a cooling system. I kinda don't want to ride it right now since the oil looks like that. Many thanks again.

Sounds like it's foaming from being too full. You did check the level with the bike upright and not on the side stand, didn't you?
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright (1876 - 1944)

What did the oil that you drained out look like?
Did you change the filter at the same time? Maybe there was some kind of junk in your oold filter that came back up (is that even possible?).
I know this sounds like a dumb questions but ... How did you pour the oil in? Did you use a funnel with a bigger mouth on it. Maybe your oil went in too fast and got some air trapped in there. It should be gone by now. Is it?

Is your oil light on? Its probably just a little over filled, or maybe its nothing. When people say emulsified, they are talking about water mixing with the oil causing a whitish look. You are talking about foaming. The oil cooler doesn't need to be bled like a water-cooled system. The oil drains back down out of it anyway everytime you shut it down. Only other thing to worry about is fuel getting in the oil.

I think it may have been too full. I figured out a way to sit on it when it was level and use my telescoping mirrror to look at the sight glass. No bubbles now.

you posted today about synthetic vs non-synthetic.... Did you put it non-synth and then get the "emulsified" result?

Zmilin, I put in non-synth and got the bubbles. I think it was too full afterall. I drained some out and it looks ok. Thanks.
