Not mine this time, but in a group I belong too.

Were taken in an enclosed trailer in the Netherlands.

Neither bikes are common.

The thing that pi$$es me off the most... it was the day after he got back from the D-Day Commemorations in Normandy.

It's another clutching at straws post, but maybe....

The two bikes are back with the owner. Thanks to fast email send around like this one, word got around. Luckely the stupid thief thought of selling them fast, and made some bell's ring with a dealer that got the offer. He contacted the owner, he contacted the police, and the thief got caught. I will name the dealer later, and as a credit to this man, he refused to accept the reward, because he too was glad the bike's got back with the rightfull owner.

Obviously, those were not the run of the mill stolen bikes. Once the report is out they would be just about impossible to sell. Nothing like getting the word out through the network. Sorry there wasn't quick good news about your own bike

I dunno about Europe but I read that 35000 bikes a year are stolen in the UK!!
(That figure includes TAGs though)

That's a lot when you consider the figure for the US is something like 80000 units.
