All I did was install my new Bubs and a Uni filter and now I have a significant oil leak (puddle)that appears to be coming from the "blow-by" tube (if that's what you call it). Any ideas out there?

I you installed a new uni filter did you oil it.
My uni tends to drip off the excess if I over oiled.
when installed the excess would drip from the airbox drain tube.

Since I installed my Epco's last year and a UNI filter I always see a little bit of oil on the ground after every ride. I don't have any leaks, it's just oil that has been drawn into the airbox through the crankcase breather tube and then drains out through the drain tubes. It's never enough to cause me any major worries but I do check my sight glass regularly to make sure that I'm keeping it between the lines.

My bike came with a plug in each of the two drain lines from the air box. For the first few thousand miles I used to pull the plugs and drain them, but, now I've just left the plugs out, and like you Gregg, I just get a few drops after every hard ride, I believe its just normal blow by from the crankcase, I don't worry with it at all.

On another web site I read a post about this blowby entering the air box and being sucked into the engine, causeing a build up of glaze on the valves and seats. I seem to remember some posts on this site about a cure for this, but its been awhile back. Something about a breather valve bypassing the air box?

Hey Leonard,

I think you are talking about the Krank Vent

WOW! I never would have guessed there were so many different types and styles of vents! Thanks Phil. Do you use one on your bike? Maybe the glazeing of the valves and seats is not an issue with the Triumphs. A few drops of oil at the end of a days run doesn't bother me and I could'nt justify the cost just to keep my garage floor clean. Now, if I could park it in my liveing room like I wanted to...

Hey Leonard,

I don't have one on Raven. I know Dinqua does and I believe there are a couple others. I just used the breather that came with the Freak kit...

Start a thread about KrankVent and you should get some responses...
