Does anyone have a good idea how to deal with the glare from the dashboard other than painting it black? It can be a real hazard sometimes.

2 ways come to mind quickly. Don't look directly at it or ride at night. Seriously though, i find it to be aggravating and potentially dangerous too sometimes.

One of the reasons I'm an anti-chrome guy. All I can tell you is invest in a good pair of sunglasses, preferably ones that cover the eyes well.

I've been thinking of applying some limo window tint on mine for the summer to tone it down...

Yeah, well I'm trying the window tint now and it's pretty tedious with the dash board on the bike.
If we had a stamped single piece of tint with cut outs for the various instruments, it would be really nice and easy to apply.
Let's see, take the dash off, unplug everything, trace a pattern and take that to my friendly neighbor die cutter and then stamp out pieces of window tint.
Shouldn't cost more that $5000 to make a die, minimum run 10,000 pieces. Duct tape is looking better all the time.

The dash doesn't bother me all that much, but I've got a chrome front brake reservoir cover.... When the sun hits that just right it's like a laser beam in the eyeballs.
If the glare bothers you that much, put a coat of wax on it and don't wipe it off....

Chrome Windvest bracket. Absolutely blinding when riding exactly away from the sun.

your right it can be a real blinder at times - best I have found so far is a tinted visor on the helmet, and I don't wash teh bike too often, the water spots from rain really cut the glare.

i was gonna say try using that transparent paint for like models and stuff. Someone on here was using it for painting the inside of their stop lights lenses. I think its made by testors model paint company. It'd probably look like a black chrome or something. Dont know how it would hold up in the long term.
You could spray paint it with that silvery paint thats supposed to mimic chrome but falls a tad short. It'd probably look more like the aluminum on the triple trees.
Or you could just scuff up the chrome with some fine grit sandpaper and give it a shot of clear coat or something.

Don't know about others, but when it hits my eyes, I find just leaning a little back or forward and it's gone. Not bothered enough to try and do anything to eliminate it. 'Course, maybe it's just my tired old eyes aren't seeing right, anyway

I've some official Triumph touch up paint that was supposed to be Mulberry Red but it says Cardinal Red and the other can says LC Graphite. I've got an air brush and used to paint model cars so I think when I get time I will see how the graphite sprays and maybe do what Soren did. The Texas sun is BRIGHT and this looks like my only solution.

There is no such thing as Mulberry touch up paint.

Same problem here so I just took some sandpaper to mine. I wasn't too fussed as my plan was to get a new tank made and not bother with the dash. If you take your time, use a fine grit and do all your strokes the same way, it's pretty effective in both reducing glare and looking right; it actually looks like a worked piece of metal, rather than the chrome-covered plastic that it is!!

Yeah, I know that now. It was advertised as Mulberry touch up paint as a close out-no returns. It even said said that om the invoice from a well known web Triumph dealer.

+1 Also, you can use your left hand to cover the console. Trumpy was thinking about having a carbon fiber sheet made up to cover the console.
