Has anyone purchased and installed the SignlMinder from Newspeedmaster? Thinking of buying this and wonder how easy it is to install and if it actually works.

Yes. I did just installed the SM-1 on my America. I did get all options to work but it did take a little time. I now have fully automatic turn signals including cancellation. Also tapped the left, right, and brake wires (come with kit) to make the turn signals act as brake lights and also suspend the blinker count when brakes are applied. The one thing I did do was find on e-bay some red lenses (old Lucas lens) for rear turn signals. Ohio doesn't like yellows that act as brake lights. So far i am very pleased. I also used dielectric grease on all connections and taps so not to have water or moisture problems. I would do it all again after seeing the back end light up with all lights the way it does. I did not put those small springs in because it tells you not to but you do have to diassemble the handlebar switch and defeat the locking mechanism in the switch. I also have four way blinkers and escort mode. Really a great upgrade for all lights. Wayne

I have...works well. The flashing of the signals is slower than stock (has to do with making it compatable with incandescent bulbs). That bugged me so I pulled it out. Works the same way with LEDs also.
Heres a link to a similar thread with pics of the springs installed: Signal Minder

I was going to re-post mine for sale. PM me if you think your interested.

I wonder if you have an older unit? My SignalMinder was bought a year ago and the flashing rate is normal. All lights on my Speedmaster have been converted to LEDs, except for the Headlight and Driving lights. Everything works and it's a big improvement.
