Sh*t Gina... I am so sorry for your demise. What happened to you is such a violation, and a blow to humanity in general. I am with you in spirit... if only to offer condolences.

+1. This really stinks, girl. In a perfect world, the thieves would be caught and then delivered to a room full of your BA.com buddies so we could have their attitude toward theft realigned.

Now that's something to look forward to (stay positive)

When i read of your news it prompted me to phone my insurers and detail the accessories i have fitted to make sure they are covered should the worst happen. They weren't... but they are now.

Sorry to hear of the loss Gina. I got the PM with the bike details on it and will keep an eye out whilst I'm out and about.

I know it's little consolation but look forward to a new bike from the insurance money.

Although I'd rather have the old one back in good order.

I'm still not at home, and so I'm not entirely convinced the reality of this has set in yet. Yeah, I'm talking new-ish bike - it'll all depend on what I get as an insurance pay out. Thing is it won't be any where near a replacement value...

There is a part of me that hopes I get him back. I can't replace him. He was/is the last of the spoked bikes - there were 07 spec bikes in the show room when I picked him up.
When I get home and a) I've not had a cider or 5, and b) on a keyboard that's more than 8" wide, I'll pm those in the British Isles that've posted in here and anyone else who lets me know the full details, frame and engine numbers, other petty details that might make the difference. There's a couple of minor things that aren't in this thread so that I can identify it...

And thaks for all your thoughts.... they mean loads...

+1. I'd much rather my car be stolen than my bike. It's so personal. I could get another Jeep pretty much like the one I have, but I couldn't replace the bike. I can only imagine how you must feel.

yeah it is... the rubber bits on my foot boards were worn, they look almost new. I didn't have a sissy bar on that one and the light bar... well it came from Adey and you know how he looks after things.... I cleaned it up but the rust was coming back through...

but thanks for looking.

Gina, sorry to hear about the bike. Hope you do'nt mind, but have put a notification on another site I use.

Do you have a crime number, just incase someone spots the bike or parts of, and are not brave/foolhardy enough to confront this/these scum.

Gina,

Really sorry to hear about the loss. Glad to see there is a silver lining somewhere down the road, albeit a bit hard to see right now. Stiff upper lip and all.

OK then, I've just spent the last 20 minutes or so, pm'ing the people in this post and the people in my address book.

Just called the local plods no news as yet, if you think you've seen anything the Crime Ref number is 67677-09 with the Avon & Somerset Constabulary.

One thing.... the tax disc on it ran out in Nov 08.... I lost the new one!

It's the only picture I've got... and it's before some of the mods.... ie since then the discs were done, the peg hangers changed....

I'm sorry Gina. There's not much I can do, but there are alot of people, as you can see, that are pulling for you to get your bike back. I hope the a*# holes are caught and sent to jail and your bike is returned in good condition.

An update, but it's a bit long winded and may seem irrelevant to start with.

2 of the passengers on my train last night were 'local' cops. I say local cos they're from the station 15 miles down the road. I took an instant dislike to them, they asked why and I explained about my 06 being missing. They were discussed with how I've been (not) treated by the local force - like the station .75 miles away..... one of them promised to investigate for me.

I got a call from one of them this morning saying my bike had been reported seen, and had been recovered.

GREAT!!!!

Not great. I called the recovery people and they didn't find it. So now it's been stolen twice.

I'm not gonna say much much as I'm taking legal advice over it, but needless to say I'm even more fed up now than I was before.

I'm thinking at looking at a Trident on the weekend though.

How about one of them new T-birdies??? Then, you could provide us with some firsthand riding impressions from an actual owner.
