There's a limited selection available for these bikes, but what appears to be the best value for the dollar.
I need a new front, and I want white walls. Maxxis are getting tougher to find, but seem to be the best price. How do they wear, compared to the Expensive Metzlers?

Yeah I was told that the maxxis white walls (at least the rear) has been discontinued...of course after my order was processed. Ive had the front mounted for maybe 3000 miles so far and it seems to be holding up pretty well. I ended up getting the rear a couple weeks ago to replace an old dunlop white wall, but I havent got that mounted yet.
Does metzler make a white wall? I thought the only other choice was Dunlop WW?
I got about 10,000 miles out of the dunlop WW rear, its almost a slick right now. Im not sure if thats a good milage or not.

I prefer maxxis WW because the white walls are larger, but I was told by an online seller that they were discontinued. Dont know if thats true or not. You might wanna contact maxxis directly to make sure. Otherwise dunlop is another option. I found them sold here... http://www.ridedirect.com/showProduct.php?id=84&cat_id=40

Are the sizes in ur link the ones i'd need to order and do those need tubes (and are the stock rims capable of supporting tubless tires)? And if so do those sizes go for the maxxis as well? Never replaced the tires before without just going to the dealer and getting ripped off. So for the last few years I have been doing all the work and mods myself. Thanks for all your help.

im not sure what the stock tire numbers are off the top of my head. You can probably find that in the "tech vault" on this forum. (or look at the tires on your bike of course)
The rear that I bought was a 170/80-15 and I went a little fatter on the front tire so I forget those numbers. Theres a lot of threads on here about front tire sizes so Im sure you'll be able to find the info. If you do go a little bigger in the front you'll have to modify the front fender bracket to accommodate the size.

Nice looking bike, Will! How about a few more pics of that spring seat set-up?

Found Avon to be a good deal and a few locals in the VBMC rave about them but I am having a really hard time finding a white wall for the front tyre.

I think the Dunlop K177 is about it for the front tire in a ww. Check out this thread for more information.
