Well I have had Black Beauty (Tiger1050) now for just over 14 months, and have put about 9500 miles on her. I have to say I am in love with this bike as much or more than my Serenity (02 TBA). Comparing the two bikes isn't really possible because they are so different, which is the great thing about having both of them. I will say that the Tiger is a much more natural ride for me, and every time I get on her it's like I become part of the bike. On the America I actually have to think about it for a couple of minutes. It's hard to explain, if you haven't ridden both bikes the same day. The Tiger is a little harder to work on versus the America, but I still enjoy both bikes, and they both serve a distinct purpose. I will probably start riding the America more this Summer, at least locally. Currently getting the Tiger ready for some long distance running. Tom

I always thought that the Tiger would be a great practical bike. I used to have big enduro's and liked them, this would be like the ultimate enduro. I will have to take one for a rie some day. The problem is that the more bikes I ride, the more bikes I want.

If you ever throw a leg over one, I am betting that you will never want to get off.

Yep, threw a leg over my friend's Tiger 955i, took a lap around the Little River Canyon and instantly became a fan. Now I'm lusting for one to accompany the America (my forever bike).

Dude you are living my dream of having my America + a Tiger in the garage.
I test drove a used Suzuki Bandit 1250 a few weeks ago and was tempted, but then had a moment of sanity and realized: "it's not a Triumph."

There is a very favorable road test of the '09 Tiger in July issue of RoadBike.

Is the only difference between the Tiger and ST the body styling? I think if I had a second bike (keeping my America), I'd want a sports tourer for traveling.

I love my America, and I am so very glad I got it first for a number of reasons. The two bikes ride and handle completely different, which I actually like. I have the Tiger setup for long distance running (if I ever get the time), but I can remove all the hard cases in less than 5 minutes. The Tiger looks mean and aggressive, while the America looks more casual and laid back (cruising along). I like the dichotomy between the two bikes.

That's what I like, too, but I'm having a difficult time obtaining a window of opportunity to ride back over to Moto400 and see if there's a deal to be had on that white demo I saw during the Georgia Rally

No doubt it is a tall ride but a $90 set of lowering plates ought to bring it right into my comfort range

My baby brother bought a 1050 Tiger this winter, he loves it. I've riden it, what a great bike. My only complaint is it's inability to move at or below the posted speed limit.
I'm wating to see the new ThunderBird, as I need a tourable bike, my Thruxton and America just aren't. If the TB disappoints I'm going Fusion White 1050 Tiger.

Last night I showed my 18 year old son a picture of an orange 09 Tiger and the new Thunderbird. I asked, which one would you buy? He replied which one is the most fun? I said the Tiger. He said, there's your answer. Kids today, I oughta...

Has anyone on here with a vertically challenged set of legs ridden a lowered Tiger? I have been on a stock bike and it is just too tall for me in that form. Sure do want one though.

British Customs has a item that lowers the bike 1 and 1/2 inch. You can also lower the seat as Triumph has a low version.

That's the only drawback of the Tiger. My brother has the Triumph lowering kit installed and it's still hard to get on and off, especially with cases and topbox. I've never seen anyone able to stand flat footed at a stop.

You guys must be taller than me. I am 6ft tall and got a 32 inseam and I'm on the balls of my feet. I'd still own one.

6'3" & all legs. Me & Ed have a little extra padding & that helps compress the shock a little bit.

I can flat foot no problem with a 32" inseam. Getting on and off the bike is as easy as stepping on the foot peg first and swinging yor leg over...
