Hi boys,

what´s your opinion about HP gain on the TBAs by the following combinations :
a.) TOR Longs + FREAK on the stock engine
b.) Thunderpipes + FREAK on the stock engine
c.) TOR Longs + FREAK on the modified engine(I mean Wiseco BB kit)
d.) Thunderpipes + FREAK on the modified engine(I mean Wiseco BB kit)

Thanx for your answers!

PP

Unless Triumph have started making a fourth version recently, the Thunder pipes will give you about 25 - 50% more power gain than the TOR pipes in any combination.

yeah the TOR pipes aren't all that much better than your stock pipes, the thunderbikes will give a much greater gain

Does anyone have Dyno stats for the Thunderbike pipes with the Freak kit? Just curious if the power gain is real or percieved. Max exhaust flow is not always a winning proposiiton.

That's a great idea Shakey.
I really gotta try to get one done before the winter hits here. Really, I will try, really!

Doesn't seem that anyone is willing to post numbers after doing a big bore conversion. Hum. This could possibly have a couple of reasons. One, perhaps the numbers aren't that impressive for the amount of money and work. Two, They don't want the rest of us to know so they can easily and at will make our poor little 790,s look bad.

Trash, I am going to install mine when the weather gets bad. I will post the dyno numbers soon after. Also, I will be buiding a Thruxton motor.

I cant believe that! I found by searching in forum archive thousands of posts about the TORs, Thunderpipes, Freak and Wiseco BB kit. And now nobody can tell factual infos or at least correct opinion about the power/torque gain by these modifications...

I've had several dyno runs and posted all the information here after each time. I will summerize:
790cc with Mikuni HSR42 carbs and modified stock pipes = hp ~62 Torque 49 (constantly breakin up, way too rich even with smallest jets and no accellerator pumps)
Same setup but added Thunderbike pipes, hp~65 Torque 50-51 still broke up badly though causing decrease in max torque and hp
Stock carbs, 790cc, freak, 160 mains, stock needles = hp 65.4, torque 51-53 ran excellent, gas/air nice and level around 13 in all rpm's.
No dyno yet after the big bore, coming one of these days.
