Last night a friend checked my disks via micrometer. I need new fr. disks and pads all around. So while I wait for my local dealerhip to open and call me back, I decided to surf for a general idea on what the parts will run me. Apparently I'm not allowed to know becuase every oem parts site I go to wont bring up the parts I want. Bike bandit will take me to the list, but won't bring up the specific parts. Two other web sites did the same thing, just freezes. Is it just me or is it a national conspiracy???

Its a national conspiracy on you. Looks like front discs at BikeBandit are $191.20 each. Front brake pads are $55.70. Rear pads are $44.56. Soren

Just what I thought. I'm going to have to take a personal loan to get my bike done. Great.

fasteddy doesn't have postage or tax, it's all included in the price. Except for Wisconsin residents, they have to pay taxes.

Replace your front rotors and pads first. Things you might consider having in addition to the new rotors and pads and other obvious things (DOT4 fluid, etc.): Front brakes brake fluid reservoir cover rubber diaphragm/gasket. These are finicky and may not seal again once removed. Ifn ya don't need it inventory it. 12 bucks or so. Several rotor bolts. The heads on these have a tendency to strip out. Then after you recover from the wallet headache you can get round to replenishing that other 30% of your braking power.

I run through "Triumph motorcycle" every Friday, appr. 1,600 items, and have never seen brake pads cheaper than J.C.W. (no, JCW doesn't put items there either) Not doubting you, just want the site, so I can get my next set there. I, like you, am my own vendor, as I make as many of my own modifications/parts as I can, or improvise with other materials/parts, not only for the satisfaction and "one off" appeal, but to stretch my funds as far as possible. Other vendors don't support me, I support my hobbies, therefore I must be as economical as possible to get the most out of my funds. I buy from others when I must (brake parts, tach., cables, etc.), but I'm going to buy from the best priced vendor, not my favorite, as I don't have a "favorite".(other than myself )

Are these made from the same materials they use on the Space Shuttle fleet? Safety first you know!

To be honest I am not sure what they are made of. I haven't tried them yet. I got my last set from Eddy. I am happy with them and would deal with Eddy any time he is great to deal with but I have limited funds too so I'll be going with the $9 pads next time. Even if they are organic and wear faster they will still save money. If you go through 2 or 3 sets in the same amount of time you saved money.

The organic pads also don't wear on the rotor any where near as much as metalic or ceramic pads.making the rotor last much longer saving even more money. But yes you get dust on the rims.

+1! Thats the best side of the story.
Brake dust doesn't show on flat black front ends. Everybody else probably washes their Chrome/Alloy ones. Road grime & whatever.

Thank you everyone for the information. I decided to go with the Fast Eddy disks when I replace them. Dealer told me I could get one more set of pads out of the disks, we'll see what he says come inspection. Now that I've changed the brake pads myself, I also decided not to fork out $$$$$ for the Triumph oem pads. I will buy cheapies and replace them myself. Thanks again. This did really help me out!!!
