Well I went over to my storage unit to install my new Kawasaki vacuum springs. Removed the cover from easy side first (right side) switched out the spring then removed the left side and look what I found! http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/uu285/zman8537/IMG_0325.jpg

That is what I am thinking! It actually ran good with the broken spring. I will find out tomorrow morning how she is running with the new springs. I would think that the the broken piece of spring would have to disrupt the operation of the carburetor slides one opening further or faster than the other side. We shall see!

I had one of mine kick (or kink) sideways once and the slide would only open halfway. Don't know how it happened

Yea, I am not sure how it happened. I thought it was strange that when I pulled all the screws out of the left side carb that the cover did not pop up from the spring pressure like the right side. Then I thought that maybe it was stuck to the diaphram possibly, but I was not expecting to find a broken spring.

Yea I was thinking the same thing after thinking about it last night! I am getting ready to go to take it for a ride and I will post the results of the new Kawasaki vacuum springs although it will probably not be a true reading since I do not know how long the spring has been broken.
