Recently completed the airbox to K&N pod mod with a battery relocation under the seat. I need ideas to remount the ignition switch.
I can use the orginal bracket that i cut off the cluster. I can cut, weld, bend and drill.
any ideas?

You could mount it in the headlight but would need a different style mount. Top engine mount is another possibility.

I always thought that if you don't have a tach in the console, that a Harley style switch would be great, then you can take the actual key out and just turn the switch and start it up.

I like the can (good place for wires)! and yer bike! I moved my battery under the seat. Maybe build a plate with ignition mounted in original location.
The header wrap..is it durable? can it take heavy rain? will it wash?

So if you mount a harley switch in stock location wich will be lost first, the key or one of my new Air pods
I dont have a speedo right now soo the tach stays.
No Speedo = Riding Right (for me)

I was thinking about mounting the ignition farther down the frame working off the two tapped holes for mounting the orginal ign. bracket...Dont know yet.
Might be to low for comfortable operation. falling over would make it CUSTOM!

StreetBoogie used to make a kit that relocated the ignition to the side of the head stock part of the frame in front of the tank, like a sporty. Hes not in business anymore, but im sure it could be done. You'd have to lengthen the ignition wires to run up under the tank and fabricate a bracket.

Anyone got a pic of that relocation anywhere?

Take a look at this. It's for Standard Bonnies but it may give you an idea or two.

Thanks to everybody for the input. The Kit will be a nice back-up just in case! I'm going for the NO BUDGET KIT
Here's the rough plan.
