Guys,
I bought a new 19 tooth gearbox sprocket for my 05 SM a few months ago, its only now I got round to putting it on. Well the hole in the centre of the sprocket is about 1/8" to small. I sent the sprocket back to Jack Lilly.com and they are going to replace it no problem. Here is the email I got.

I have ordered two new sprockets and they measure up the same size.
Can I have your VIN number please. These sprockets only fit after a certain
number. There are two different output shafts on the Speedmaster, one is slightly
smaller than the other. I can then find out which one you have.

Kind Regards
Rob.

I was wondering if anybody has come across this problem before and also if anybody knows why there are different output shaft sizes?

Cheers
bigdoug

I haven't heard anything about that either. Doesn't mean it isn't true just that I hadn't heard of it.

Latest news is yes my VIN number checked out and I have the larger shaft so they cant supply me with a 19 tooth sprocket. Guess my next move is to email someone at triumph.

got this reply to my enquiry at my local dealer

Hi, We can only supply the std 18th sprocket (part no T1182000). Don't know why they use two different shafts, I did notice they early model uses a smaller 16th sprocket.

Stuart

very strange and now I will have to see if I can find a compatible sprocket somewhere.
