I have start reading about how to make my bike a proper chopper when it comes to long forks, however, there are a lot of ideas out there. I have a bunch of random qestions in my head right now...

-I red that telescopic forks are not that good if one have a rake over 37 degrees. Does any body know if the fault is a matter of less perfection or a disaster??

-What is the measurements of our steering necks?

- What is te rake angle in our tripple trees?

- Is it possible to keep the lower parts of the stock forks and get a hold of longer upper parts?? If so I might be able to keep my tripple trees and my front brake.

Right now I feel like a blind man with a handgun, hahaha. But I wont shoot just yet. I will read a lot and lissten to what you guys have to say. Thanks for past comments and tips, and thanks for eventual tips in this thread.

I don't know about over there but Forks By Frank in the USA will make upper tubes if you send him yours. Maybe there is someone like that there, I imagine shipping would make it too expensive to have Frank do it.

I have seen plenty of telescopic forks on choppers but they don't give you much suspension when raked too far and it also tends to wear them out fast because of the pressure on the bushings.

Thank you for the tip.

Would be expensive to have them worn out in no time, especially if they are custom made! I guess I shall read up on springer forks then.

You will find our steering head is about an inch too long for any HD or HD after market springer. The bearings are an inch farther apart. If you are going to rake it anyway you could just weld an HD part on and solve the problem.

That is a good idea!
That might be the easiest way to do it. I have thought about it but Im a bit concerned about the rules and regulations here in sweden.
Hope the laws dont want it to be classified as a "amateur built vehicle", I just want it to be a "modified vehicle". Will have to check that out.

The quest for cool forks goes on!!

As far as I'm concerned, a chopper without a springer or girder is only half done. That's how folks used to do it when they didn't have the money to complete the job.

I agree.
Money problem is the only thing that could make me not go for a springer.
