Unfortunately I do not have any pictures, but the two largest items
I've strapped to my passenger pillion were a microwave oven which took up
all of the passenger pillion and about a quarter of my seat, and a
UPS delivery that I had to strap on its side because it was too bulky to
position in any other way. The UPS lady asked if they couldn't just deliver
it later, but since they couldn't find my house the first time, I declined.
Once it was in place you couldn't see anything but the top of my helmet over
the box.

Not an "item" per se, but it was loaded down for a 3 day, 1000 mile trip last summer. Most fun i've ever had on my bike!

Does my fat a$$ count as an item?

Well it wasn't me but my buddy. He had my bush bike (Honda 125) and used it for hunting. That bike brought home more than one deer.

I used to haul a folding bicycle to the beach on summer weekends. Brought home a computer desk on the back once. Biggest was a screen door stood up in the box of the Servicar.

An M-1 Garand, 6.5 x 55 Custom Mauser, 1897 Winchester 12 Gauge, 1911 Taurus .45 ACP, .30 Carbine Ruger BH, large tackle box of cleaning components, and six .30 Cal ammo boxes along with 5/8 " Steel target and stand.

I had rifles strapped from the sissy bar down alongside the bike to the front pegs on both side. A shotgun across the handle bars. Both saddle bags stuffed, the rear luggage rack behind the sissy bar arrayed with ammo boxes and the steel target and stand, I even had stuff strapped across the tank and a full set of leather belts and holsters and various revolvers and pistols strapped to me.

Believe me nobody came near me on the road back from the range on that day. It took me a full 30 minutes to unload and store everything into my gun safe when I got home.

I could have taken the Ford F 150 for the trip but since it had just about empty tanks, I elected to take the Trumpet since the tank was full and it would get 50 MPG although on this trip I expect it got a lot less due to wind resistance and weight.

The bike was kinda sluggish and did not handle too well with all this shooting stuff festooned all over it but it got me there and back in one piece.

I hauled an old, spindly rocker on my bike once, years ago. Really! I was walking a creek, and came upon it on a bank. My grandma restored old chairs, and I was sure she would love this thing. One of the rockers was gone. I strapped one end on the back rack, another around the middle rungs and circled a bungee around my torso. I rode about 12 miles with this thing strapped to me and the bike, and needless to say, I got some strange looks. But my grandma loved it! I don't remember if she restored it or not.

I wish I had a picture, but I hauled two 30 packs of bud light, all my clothes swimwear and what not, and a handle of captain, and a handle of crown. (a handle is the big bottle 1.75L) It was a nice 2 hour ride to Stockton, MO. Good fun lake times.

Biggest or heaviest?

I've been pretty well loaded to go camping several times and going to be again when I go to Colonial Williamsburg next month.4 room tent ,sleeping bags, air mattress, weeks worth of clothes, lighting, extension cord, etc..

Not on my bike, but I remember a camping trip 5-6 of us took from the Needles District in the red rock canyon country of Utah to the San Juan Mountains near Telluride, Co in 1980.

A guy & his wife were aboard a Harley something glide, with hard bags & a tour pack. They also had sleeping bags, a family-size canvas tent, assorted cooking gear lashed on top and on the sides. What I remember almost 30 years later is the double-mantle Coleman lantern hanging off the rear, swinging back & forth motoring down the two lanes. It was like following the caboose of an overloaded freight train, or being conscripted into a Winnebago orthopedic knee sock convention

The 76 Bonneville was unable to follow that happy caravan through the twisties. We had a great time in camp. I have an old black & white glossy photo stashed somewhere of a juvenile beaver that stopped by for coffee one morning. He was very well behaved

Largest... a carton (24 bottles) of beer, on an old 250cc dirt bike, sitting on the seat with me sitting on top.

Longest... a 6' long piece of water pipe with a rope tied to it at two points and slung over my shoulder, carried like a lance in a medieval jousting tournament. It later became the handle for my home-made bike lift.

Heaviest/most cumbersome... myself and my pillion passenger carrying about $300 of groceries in plastic shopping bags on a Honda CBX550.

Then there's the various loads I've had in the trailer behind the bike, but that's not what this thread's about, is it?

I can just picture that lantern Moe. I think that would stick in my head too.

I rode around with a beer ball in my youth and also went to pick up a 1/4 barrel on my bike. That was on a Yamaha DT360. Loved that bike, would like to have another one. Great fun in the slate quarries but legal on the road too.

Freedom, remember that guy we met up with at that rest area between Lake Louise and Golden, BC, in 2004? That Harley was LOADED DOWN. Even had a bicycle strapped to the back.

Mostly I remember driving through miles of outstanding Canadian Rocky scenery, where we couldn't see 100 meters off the highway because of days of rain

Case of Michelob and a 10 lb bag of ice. If I have to do that again I'll not put the ice on the tank. The air heated the ice, there was a small hole in the bag and things got awful cold by the time I got home.

Had two large mercury vapor light fixtures still in their boxes that were stacked on top of each other. Had that cargo net stretched pretty hard but I had them puppies on secure!

Back in the early 70's I took an inflated tractor innertube about 20 miles on my 350 Honda for a day of drinking and tubing on a river. I left the tube when we were done.

This bike has almost everything except for the kitchen sink.

fourty odd years on I can still remember bringing home a HUGE bag of styrofoam beads to make a beanbag chair. A buddy sat on the back of my scooter with this thing somehow coralled between us as we drove 20 or so miles thru montreal city streets.

I miss the buddy, the scooter, and montreal but not the chair - it always leaked.
