I went to the Triumph party at the Dover, Delaware, dealer yesterday. It had it’s good and bad points and I just thought I’d pass them along.
Now I really like the people that work there, they kind of feel like family and after all, their the ones that sold me my bike and brought me into the Triumph circle. I feel like they are influenced by Triumph Corp to much. They had a T100; and a Scrambler as demo’s, which I’ve ridden before, but the bike of the day was their Street Triple. I think they had a Sprint there too. I didn’t ride any of them because of other people waiting to ride and the bike I really wanted to ride wasn’t available. The Rocket or the Rocket Touring models. They had them there, they just weren’t for demonstration rides. It seems that Triumph makes the determination of what’s going to be featured and the rest don’t count.
Last year when the touring model came out all revamped, I was really impressed and it kind of made my mouth water a little bit. Last week on this sight, somebody posted a picture of a custom Rocket III, that was stunning, and gave me a whole new perspective of the plane Rocket III. The base price is almost three thousand dollars less too so I really wanted a ride. NO DEAL! I would have had to lie to them and tell them I wanted to buy it to get a ride and then make up some excuse why I wasn’t buying. Well that’s not me, so I didn’t go there.

So the good and bad of it was; they had a good party, (no alcohol though), and they had demo rides. They had good food and a fair amount of people showed up, all good…. BUT, they didn’t make the whole line of bikes available…. Hummmm. I guess it’s my own version of sour grapes and who knows, maybe after I rode one, I might have had to have one. I do have a slight case of OCD. you know.
