I have been toying with the idea of putting floorboards on my 07 Amercia. I will be doing some longer rides this summer and I am trying to make my ride a little more comfortable. I have tried to simulate the flatter foot postiion like floorboards when riding, and IMOP it is way different. My dilema is we will be doing some riding in the North Carolina mountains (mucho corners) and I don't want to sacrifce corner control. Since I have never ridden with floorboards this is a nagging question in the back of my mind, and since this site is a wealth of information I am reaching out to you guys. Thanks.

You won't lose any ground clearance with the boards. Also, they are hinged similar to the pegs so that if you do lay into them, they will pivot up.

Hey, I dragged mine yesterday, no problem; just like pegs they fold up when the feeler hits the tarmac.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright (1876 - 1944)

And you will find them much more comfortable on long rides. A good windshield, floorboards, a Corbin seat with back rest and risers have made a world of difference in long range comfort for me. I just returned from a 1,600 mile round trip to Big Bend and could not have done it without the above equipment.
I drug the sensors on my boards several times in the mountains of West Texas and had no problems.

I can't imagine riding with straight pegs (my bike came with the floorboards) after spending two summers on them. Word of the wise though if you are looking at the toe/heel shifter, I think it was designed for a childs foot, rather then monkeying with it and a grinder I just left the toe only shift on.

i am toying with this myself as i started with boards and moved to pegs and never felt quiet right but due to fact i am on a somewhat tight budget i have decided to go to the only uk dealer i know of rivco parts and and have a look at the triangular pegs they seem the size of half a board but i have never seen then in flesh so i need to look at them and at half the price of full bopards my well be the way to go for me
