I've had some wine, and I'm not going to apologise for what I'm gonna type.

I've put this in another thread:
Quote:

And give up with the arguing. Some believe, some don't. Politics.... means nothing to me. Just give it up. Both of you. It's driving people away.

I mean it. There are good folks out there who are not on this site as much as they used to be. Some just don't have the time as much as they used to and so it's natural they are not about.

Lots are not, cos they are fed up of the b!tchin, and general sh!t that is going on. This is a site that is about friendship, and meeting up and sorting out problems with our bikes.
I don't give a toss about politics, whether it's in my home country, over the pond or the other side of the world. It's not what I come on here for, and while there's freedom of speech, this in NOT the place.
I don't believe, so don't want religion shoved down my throat. I know there are religious people on here (tips my hat to RevBob) and that's fine.... he doesn't stick it in every other post.

If you feel this applies to you, then it does. If you don't, just think about it. This is an international site and think about what you post and where you post it... I could go on and on about the Rally in Dent in July (see Ray for details) but I don't. I could whinge about the PM we have in this country, but don't. I could moan about the stupid Texan that hit my 03 America and tar all Texans with the same brush, but don't (mainly as it was a Texan that sent me my new forks!)

We're all here cos we want to be - just make it that we want to stay.......

And no, I'm not bidding to be a British Mod.... I've said before and will say again.... I'm just a member here and happy that way!!!!
Back to my wine...

I commend you for having enough wine in you to post how you feel, and to do it with no typos!!

Enjoy your wine.

I use Firefox as a browser though on another note. It seems your browser forces you to open threads and read threads you don't want to read. I am sorry to hear that. Try Firefox it works great and you only open what you want to read about.

Maybe that will help.

Well GEEEEZ, Gina!!! I suppose this means you wouldn't be interested in posting any of your thoughts in the thread I'm about to start: "Are Obama and Gordon Brown really a couple of no good Harley ridin' Scientologists at heart?"

(I know, I know...I'm a real stinker, ain't I?!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Right then.

I've had a good sleep after the WHOLE bottle of wine and re-read my post - the empty bottle is still next to the keyboard... but I've put the glass by the sink for washing later.

Even sober I stand by what I posted.

I guess what I was saying was this is an international forum with international points of view. And some views that you think are fine, may not be acceptable elsewhere - even within you own country.

And if you think a post is beyond the AUP, then don't post it.

If you can't abide within the AUP, don't post at all.

Back to more coffee. (No, I don't have a head ache - just it's still early for me... I need caffeine!)

Oh and I did think about posting some offending posts - the ones that made me post this in the first place..... but have decided against it - for now. However subject to how things are in the next couple of days that POV could change.....

You'll be needing a fishtail parka and a lambretta for that one Gina.

Hope the wine was good!

Well Gina some of what you say I agree with some I find very difficult to agree with. We are a family not bound by blood but by a shared interest. As in all families you will find people with differing views and opinions.

Whilst we may not agree with every post we should defend each persons rights freedom of speach and thought "as long as it falls within the AUP" I have read posts I agree with I have read some I disagree with. But one thing that does remain constant is, offensive posts do seem in the majority to be dealt with propmptly by the Mods.

We have many members from all sorts of ethnic backgrounds all sorts of religious beliefs. I enjoy reading posts from around the world from our Antipodean brothers, our European brothers and our American brothers (Sisters all included).

Only by opening ourselves to other points of view and cultures can we hope to learn and grow as individuals.

So in summary folks keep posting if its outside the AUP then its gone. If you dont agree well either leave a reasoned reply of disagreement. Or you can leave supprting post to strengthen the post.

Keep posting guys I for one love reading all the differing views.

I cannot decide whether to be a good example or a horrible warning ! Peace & respect http://www.tomcc.org/gg/ Eric

+1 kidhaf I couldn't agree more. Everybody is entitled to there beliefs and opinions,, If I see a post I don't like I ignore it, and if it is out of order I expect the moderators to pick up on it and do what they think is right.

The different opinions is what makes things interesting and makes the world go around. I like reading them all....as long as they agree with mine.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinions, of course, however this is a privately owned site and there is no such thing as free speech. It is a benevolent dictatorship and there are rules. So keep your opinions on politics and religion to yourself or take them elsewhere. Thank you for your support.
