First I cant find the name of the guy who buys stock pipes. I suck at searching.

Can some one compare short TORS to JC Whitney slip ons. Are they louder and how do the look. I really like the look of the slash cut but want some thing a little louder then my short TORS.

Maybe a Trident pipe is what your looking for. Or Specialty Spares. Or Epcos. All are slash cut.

Chevy605 has a post in the Vendor forum with his info. You could gut the TORs yourself too.

Chevy605 also sells pipes/refinishes yours that some people have posted about-saying they sound really good. And as I remember for a really fair price.

yes, I bought a set and he does a good job but to me they were not loud enough but after I removed the last baffle they sounded great. After that they sounded great. He will tell you there is no re-jetting needed, this is not correct.

Best move I've made on my bike was taking Ian's advice and totally gut the stock pipes. You already paid for them anyway... why not take the time to gut? I drilled out the first two baffles and beat the other two out with a sledge hammer and a section of sharpened re-bar. It took some time and effort (as well as scars) but it was absolutely worth it. In my biased opinion they are the best sounding exhaust option around... and BY FAR the cheapest.

I had the short Tors and had gutted a set of stock pipes-- still not loud enough -- for me anyway. Put on a set of 16" JC Ws and re-jet to 130s, very nice. This year lost air box and re-jet to 150s, very, very nice--try it ,you'll like it...

I gutted my stocks with a hole saw. I only did the first 2 baffles, and installed the freak kit. I like the sound, and it's not too loud. My neighbors actually compliment the sound, but don't gripe about it. +1
