Where in the he!! did Triumph get the rubber for the boots, covers, and caps???? I have an 02 America and I switched out my original brake lines today with a set I got from Brent and when I went to pull the cover off of the rear brake light switch I noticed that the boot that protects the terminals is all deteriorated. It's not just there it's everywhere. The boots and rubber pieces on my 1969 Triumph are in better condition than my 02!!

My 05 Speedmaster came with an allen wrench "tool kit" stuck up under
a side cover. A roll of black tape would have been
more useful.

Oh, oh... this doesn't sound good. I just restored an 81 Honda and from frame on up and not one rubber anything had noticeable deterioration.

A lot depends where the bike is, the sun will destroy rubber parts. Also the old stuff had real rubber not the synthetic stuff they use now and the old rubber held up better.

Thats what I'm talkin about! My 69 Triumph's rubber is in better shape than the rubber on my 02 Triumph. My bike doesn't sit out in the sun for any extended periods except when I am riding it. I don't know what the answer for this is but I can see issues down the road with wire connections because of the poor rubber boots and rubber components.

Just gonna end up like the old bikes. What I do right now is any old bike I want to ride much I pull all the wire out of it and rewire it myself so I don't have electrical issues.
