I bet Fast Freddy could bore those out for you too, taking them from 35mm to probably 39 or 40mm after he's done. http://fastfredsheadworks.com/

There is not much gain in CR´s over stock carbs... from what everyone says on other forums...

Really? Are those not cable operated slides? I would think that alone would be an improvement. That's a mighty big chunk of cash for no real gain.

I hear that too. I think it's because they are 35mm, and stock CVK's are 36mm, or really 35.5mm, but less opening still means less air flow. Smooth bore or not, you need more cfm's to make more power

OK, that makes sense. I thought (see what I get for thinking?) they were larger.

I always thought so too, the way they are talked up by the sellers. I did not like the way they fit on the bike, they seem to be better suited for the Bonneville line, since the intakes are different.

Yes, at the moment. But I could tell you my CRII settings - dynoed at 66.43 RWHP on the 790 with Freak and Thunderbike pipes! Main 125, Slow 58 + 1 1/4 turn, Needle 5181 in slot 2. Should be ok for a start! Hasse
Hasse TBA -02 Pre-Fire Cardinal Red, Wiseco 904, Thunderbike pipes, Freak

they will feel better than stock carbs but if your going for power then go with the 39's or the 42's for a few hundred more. i say stick with the stockers unless your going to get a set of the bigger carbs. it sucks that these bikes are so expensive to hop up.

The CR's flow 30% more than stockers, even through the smaller opening.
This is because there is no butterfly to restrict airflow.

curious what set up you will end up and if you not fitted them yet my advice is to reverse engine mount for easier fit

Perhaps I still have a bad taste in my mouth from my Harley days. The cost/performance on go fast parts just didn't impress me. I'm glad there are enough gear heads on this board to share their experiences with upgrades. However, doing upgrades seems like chasing a rabbit down a money hole. After the big bore kit, then its gotta change carbs. Where does it end?
Perhaps ignorance is bliss and I don't know what I'm missing. I haven't been lucky enough to run into a BA/SM that has been modified. Any Arkansans with a BB kit?
Didn't buy into the hype, you can keep the change.
