I got a treat on the ole tele two nights ago. TCM had TWO classic biker movies on back to back. I watched the Wild Ones and Born Loser (first Tom Laughlin - Billy Jack movie). What a treat to see what the bikes looked like back in the day.
'06 TBA - Black, AI and Snorkel removed, K&N Drop In, Gutted Stock Pipes, 145/42, 2 turns out.

I also watched those. The biker cliches, clothing, and attitude were a treat to view as well as the bikes.
Billy Jacks cutie was a sight that was pure eye candy too.

I used to love those old movies with guys like Bruce Dern in them. The cheesy old biker movies, Speed used to run them at night but not for a while now.

"The wild angels" was the last movie in that triple header the other night. Peter Fonda, Nancy Sinatra and a buncha cool bikes. Remember see'n all when they first came out--$1.25 matinee -- man i'm old......

When Bruce Dern was making one of the movies some bikers knocked out all his front teeth because of the colors he was wearing.

Is this factual? Were police, lawyers, and criminal charges involved?

"The Born Losers" . Aptly named . Some of the "B" sci-fi's were better than this cheezy thing .

Actually in the movie with Bruce Dern, his wife (Laura's mother), Nancy Sinatra and Fonda the ******'s Angels were hired as extras. Sonny Bargar the pres of the club is actually in some senes. According to the TMC host the only conflict seemed to be between Nancy Sinatra's body guard and Sonny Bargar.
Stayed up and watched all four movies, Mad Max was on just too late. But, the music in Easy Rider made it worthwhile, the hippie culture pap was pretty embarrassing looking back.

That isn't how Bruce Dern tells it and they did knock his teeth out, upper front. That isn't the only biker movie he was in either but it is the one I am talking about.

Everytime I think of Bruce Dern, I'm reminded of an exchange he tells he had with John Wayne just before they filmed the scene in "The Cowboys" [1972] where Dern, who back then always seemed to be cast as characters suffering from, let's say, "extreme anti-social psychosis", kills Wayne by shooting him in the back. According to Dern, "The Duke" walked up to Dern and said the following to him: "Well ya KNOW, America is gonna HATE YOU for killin' me in this here movie like this!" To which Dern said be replied: "Yeah, you're probably right, Duke. But they're gonna LOVE ME in Berkeley!!!" (remember the era, folks?!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

The Wild One is about the only bikexploitation flick I will go out of my way to see... The rest are pretty formulaic
