For those of you that dont know I am a manager at a local chevy store its a dealership that I love to go to work at.I truly cant imagine going any where else to work,so lets just say I love my job. If you read the headlines its been a rough times at most dealerships times are tuff. Except us over the first quarter of the year we are up 67% The market was down over 51%. Last year we where up about 10% over the previous year, the market was down.Lets just say the crew at our store has worked there tails off and our customers have rewarded us. Now the rant, my boss pulls me in his office and asks me to shut the door. Does he tell me what a great job my team has done, nope, does he tell me what a great job I have done, nope. What he tells me is I am being out worked by a another manager, and I am going to collect a bonus that I shouldnt be getting. As the color goes out of my face and Im trying to bite back anger,Im getting told how over paid I am and how his going to be making a change in my pay plan. You know its tuff times out there, my industry is doing very badly, but after a month that I put in 70 hour work weeks dealing with the stress and looking at how much money we made vs the market it just ticked me off, sorry about the rant guys

Wow! How lucky you are and what ingratitude you show toward your boss, who is OBVIOUSLY a natural leader and positive motivator. Why are you only working 70 hours a week, you slacker? You could fit at least another 10 or 15 in there if you shaved some quality time (over rated in my book) in there. What a complainer you are. Jeez!
(You just made me appreciate MY job and boss a lot more, BTW.)

Sorry to hear that Chris.
As a loyal Chevrolet buyer, glad to hear your dealership is strong. Hope things turn around for you on a personal level.

Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

That sucks. I also work in a dealership, on the service side. We've been as busy as we ever have in the 4 yrs I've been there, but because sales is down, we all had to take a 10% pay cut. Bullcrap. At least I don't have to compete with my boss's kid. Good luck man, hopefully things will turn around soon.

I feel your pain, brother. I'm kind of in a similar situation of love to hate job because of a boss. It's like a car or bike accident. Your just going along happy as can be and then bam. How can I ruin your good feeling toward this job? And the son thing being the other manager, I don't know what to say about that other than that's a $**#*$ pile of #@)! and your boss is a #)@8 sucker.

I've never worked at one, but a good friend of mine has and several of the guys at work as well and the bottom line is most car dealerships suck these days. Turnover in the ones around here is rediculous....
I feel bad for you Chris, but you need to read between the lines here. The boss has "X" amount of $$ for payroll and he wants his son to have more than you. That leaves you 2 choices - grin and bear it or move on. Neither is easy.
Best of luck.
